Andre L Carter

The first 20 years was growing into becoming a man. being drafted and serving mt country in Vietnam was a challenge and I had no ideal the man I could have been if I didn't serve in Vietnam and carry the scars of war at 19 years old. I'm sure there are many you men who served asked the same question.

I started ny new journey in 1990. I was a bill collector who never got promoted to be anything but a bill collector I was good and I was always training a white man to be my boss. So I walked away to be my own boss. It wasn't easy but I did what I had to do to make it. The one thing I was missing was God in my life. I cam from a family of ministers m mother and grandmother were ministers. I grew up in the church but when I turned 21 I made the decision not to go to church. I was lost. I found a church home and rededicated my life back to God. I did everything to get my life back on track. I joined the choir. I also joined a community choir with a bunch of young people. I was the oldest member for a few years,

I was approched by Johnny Colemen to help him launch The Gospel Chicago Style Magazine as the Marketing Manager. He had been watching for a few year. I accepted the offer. I worked with the magazine from 1994 to 1997 during that time his team taught me how to create and publish the magazine. The magazine failed and I started the Gospel Synergy Magazine in April of 1997  I published bi monthly six issue a year. It was basically a one man shop. It wasn't easy and I wasn't generating enough income to hire people. In 2000 I was approced by Rev. Nathan Edmonds to help him relaunch his Internet Rdio Station GospelPower.fm he offer to pay me $500 dollars a month and a percentage of advertisement.

Wow! I had a magazine and a Gospel Internet Radio station. I was in a position to be a blessing to independent Gospel Artist with two platforms to get their music out to the world. In 2006 my son Andre A Carter helped me to publish the magazine online. Making Gospel Synergy Magazine the first Chicago Gospel Magazine online. Which was a real blessing because I was able to become a monthly publication. I went from 3,000 subscribers to 40,000 subscribers worldwide and the magazine was published in different languages thanks to the Internet and technology. The magazine and station was growing.

In 2007 I became partners with Roderick Carter in Winston Salem, NC and we are still partners to present. Roderick is the creator of www.GospelRadioPromo.com and www.GospelStationCharts.com Some were during that time Curtis Big Bro CJ Jones started xalling me The Godfather of Gospel Internet Radio. Down through the years Synergy1Radio has won many awards. Synergy1Radio was the second Gospel Internet Station to win The Stellar Awardsmost recently Synergy1Radio was inducted into The Spin Awards Hall of Fame, The Advidity Awards and I will be honored with the Icon Award at the WGSR Gospel Sounds Radio Awards.
